# Your starting point

The home screen, and the fastest ways in.

**Starting point** is where you land when you sign in. It is built around one question: what do you want to do right now?

## What is on it

**A greeting**, and (if you work with the Inbox) a note telling you how many new messages are waiting, which takes you straight there.

**An assistant picker and a message box.** The quickest route into a conversation: pick an assistant, type your question, and you are in a chat. You never have to go via the assistant list.

Selecting the assistant shows its name and opening message, so you can tell what it is for before you commit. If you have more than a few, search by name, or choose **More assistants** for the full list.

**AI Toolbox shortcuts.** A row of the elements you use most. If you have starred any as favourites, those appear; otherwise you get a recent selection. The row always ends with a link to the full **AI Toolbox**.

If your organisation uses subscriptions and yours is not active yet, a card here points you at the plans.

## Using it well

* **Start here rather than navigating.** Type the question straight into the box. Going via the menu is slower for the same result.
* **Star what you use.** Favourites pin your regular assistants and elements to the top, which makes a long list irrelevant.
* **Speak instead of typing.** Where the assistant supports it, the microphone button dictates your message.

## If it looks empty

Two messages can appear instead of the usual content:

**No access available**: your account does not yet have access to assistants or Toolbox elements. Only your administrator can change that; see [Getting help](/en/for-everyone/getting-help.md).

**Nothing to start yet**: access is fine, but nobody has built anything yet. Your administrator creates assistants and elements; it is worth telling them what would actually help you, because that is usually what decides what gets built.

## Landing somewhere else

If you spend all day in one part of the platform, you do not have to pass through this screen. Set a different default landing page under [your preferences](/en/for-everyone/preferences.md).
