# AI Toolbox

Ready-made tools for the things you do over and over.

## What it is

An assistant is a conversation: you have to know what to ask. The AI Toolbox is a form: you fill in a few fields and get a finished result.

Each tool is an **element**. Someone in your organisation has already worked out the instructions, chosen the settings and tested it. All you do is supply the specifics.

There are elements for writing standard messages, summarising documents, rewriting text in your house style, translating consistently, extracting data from documents, and generating images.

{% hint style="success" %}
If you have never got much out of AI chat, start here rather than with an assistant. The Toolbox needs no skill in asking questions: the thinking has already been done for you.
{% endhint %}

## Finding an element

**AI Toolbox → Elements** shows everything available to you as cards, each with a name, a picture and a description of what it produces.

* **Search by name** filters the list.
* **Categories** down the left narrow it by subject, when your organisation uses them.
* **Sort** by newest, oldest or name.
* The **star** on a card makes it a favourite, pinning it to the top and putting it on your [starting point](/en/for-everyone/starting-point.md).

An element marked **New** was added recently. One marked **Draft** is still being built. You will not usually see those.

## Locked elements

If your organisation uses subscription plans, elements outside your plan appear blurred with a lock, next to a card describing what a higher plan would unlock.

Whether to upgrade is not usually your decision. Mention it to your administrator or account manager rather than choosing a plan yourself.

## If the element you need does not exist

Elements are built by administrators, and they are quick to build. If you do the same piece of writing every week, that is exactly what the Toolbox is for. Describe the task to your administrator, ideally with two or three real examples of the input and the output you would want. See [Getting help](/en/for-everyone/getting-help.md).
